April is Volunteer Appreciation Month! This month, we celebrate our incredible volunteers who dedicate their time to provide meals to the sick and vulnerable, and to care for and educate our community.
Each and every volunteer at Project Open Hand is unique and important to our work and the clients we serve. Our hearts are filled with thanks when thinking about your dedication. You are a driving force of this agency – inseparable from our work. Thank you!
Since the pandemic, we have struggled with engaging volunteers. The challenges of social distancing and health concerns made it difficult for many to participate. Despite these obstacles, our volunteers have shown incredible resilience and adaptability. Your continued support during these trying times has been invaluable and we are glad to see our community returning to volunteering.
In fiscal year 2024, 5,228 volunteers provided over 37,900 hours of service. Your commitment and hard work have made a significant impact on the lives of those we serve. Whether you are preparing meals, delivering food, or offering a kind word, your efforts are deeply appreciated.
